Lots to Do!

Join us at the Nature Center for Story Time and Adventure Hikes!

  • Story Time is a fun and rich experience that seeks to entertain and educate our youngest visitors. We read age-appropriate stories aloud to your children to instill in them a love of books, reading and nature. Every Thursday (weather permitting) at 10:30am.
  • Adventure Hikes are just that: an adventure on the trails at The Nature Center at Butler Corner. Every 2nd and 4th Saturday starting at 10:30 join us for a fun and unexpected adventure in our forests and meadows.

Volunteers Welcome!
Anyone interested in volunteering time at The Nature Center? As we are in the beginning stages, we need constant trail upkeep, need to make more trails, need to clean up slash pile on the forest floor, so many things. You can email: naturecenteratbutlercorner@gmail.com if interested in volunteering or better yet, call us at 970-882-4593.

Upcoming Plans and Programs
Our plans for the future are to install enviro-loo toilets, remodel an existing building for the Nature Center, add more picnic tables, add benches along the trail, build an old-fashioned, one room school house, remodel an existing tree house, plant bird and butterfly friendly plants, and create a story trail.

The Nature Center at Butler Corner is located at 20503 Road 31, just outside the town of Dolores in southwest Colorado. Please contact us at 970-882-4593 for more information on programs and activities.
